About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Product Designer with a passion for learning, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. The Product Designer will work alongside our Design Director, fellow Senior Designers and collaborate with a dedicated Product Manager partner. You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to a mature design system and helping shape the future of government financial software.
The Product Designer will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with your product manager partner to understand goals, user needs, and technical constraints for your assigned product domain (disclosure, budgeting, or engagement).
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to final handoff to engineering, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation.
- Work within and contribute to our established design system in Figma, ensuring consistency and quality across the platform.
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions.
- Ideate and iterate on solutions that bring simplicity and clarity to complex financial workflows.
- Partner with engineers to ensure designs are implemented with high quality and attention to detail.
- Support research-driven design decisions by participating in user research, usability testing, and analyzing user feedback.
- Develop a deep understanding of your product domain and become a subject matter expert in that area.
Critical Skills/Experience:
- You're Proficient in Figma: You work comfortably with components, auto-layout, and variables. You understand design systems and can work efficiently within established patterns.
- You Have a Strong Eye for Detail: You believe quality is in the details and consistently deliver polished, well-aligned work.
- You're Naturally Curious: You're comfortable asking "why" and exploring the problem space before jumping to solutions. You want to understand the full context of what you're designing.
- You Can See the Bigger Picture: While you focus on your domain, you have awareness of how your work connects to other features, user flows, and platform-wide patterns.
- You're a Collaborative Partner: You work well with product managers, engineers, and other designers. You're not afraid to ask for help and believe we all have more to learn.
- You're Enthusiastic About Design: You bring positive energy to your work and find genuine joy in solving design problems. You're resilient and professional, even when facing challenges.
- Bonus Points:
- You have experience working on complex B2B or enterprise SaaS products.
- You have experience designing complex data tables, financial applications, or budgeting tools.
- You have experience contributing to or maintaining design systems.
- You have a thoughtful approach to adopting new design tools and AI-powered workflows, focusing on how they can genuinely improve outcomes.

Compensation:
- In the spirit of transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 CAD and exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at ClearGov, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, interview performance, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary for the role. Hiring beyond the base range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
