About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an IT Support & Applications Specialist (systems-focused) with a passion for learning, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. The IT Support & Applications Specialist will be responsible to support, administer, and optimize the systems, applications, and tools that power our business operations. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure applications run efficiently, business processes are supported, and users receive exceptional technical assistance.

This role is ideal for a mid-level IT generalist who is comfortable supporting endpoints, SaaS tools, and users in a mixed-device environment, and can operate independently day-to-day.

The IT Support & Applications Specialist will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support core SaaS applications, including productivity suites, collaboration tools, and line-of-business platforms
  • Provision, configure, deploy and support both macOS and Windows laptops, including new hires, replacements, and troubleshooting - ensuring all required applications, security tools, and access permissions are pre-installed
  • Own end-to-end onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and recovery, account provisioning/deprovisioning, and access changes
  • Prepare and ship Trim Kits (laptop, charger, peripherals) and ensure day-one readiness for new employees
  • Manage system configurations, application settings, integrations, and overall lifecycle management
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems on a daily basis, partnering with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues or outages
  • Analyze application performance and recommend improvements, alternatives, or workflow enhancements
  • Manage user accounts, roles, access permissions, and SSO/IDP platforms
  • Support data flows, API connections, and system integrations between applications
  • Train employees on new tools, features, and best practices to improve user adoption and efficiency
  • Administer and support core SaaS tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, JumpCloud, Monday.com, and similar platforms
  • Troubleshoot basic connectivity issues including Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and office network access
  • Support employee mobile devices (iOS and Android) for email, chat, MFA, and core apps
  • Use automation, scripting, and AI tools where helpful to improve workflows, documentation, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with IT teammates to maintain a consistent, high-quality user experience
  • Assist with security reviews, audits, patching, firmware updates, and overall device compliance via MDM or endpoint tools
  • Ability to work in-person at the Toronto office location at least an anticipated 2-3 times per week, including special company events (i.e. - board meetings, etc.)

Critical Skills/Experience:

  • Application Administration: SaaS platforms, system configuration, lifecycle management
  • Endpoint Knowledge: Hands-on experience supporting both macOS and Windows endpoints
  • Environment Size: Experience supporting mid-sized environments (~300 users+)
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Strong problem-solving across applications and systems
  • Integration & Workflow Understanding: APIs, automation tools, system connections
  • Documentation: Clear, structured technical writing
  • Customer Support: Excellent communication and service skills
  • Security Awareness: Understanding of best practices for data, devices, and applications
  • IAM/SSO: Experience managing users and access via JumpCloud, Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace
  • Scripting/Automation: Exposure to scripting or automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python) is a plus, but not required
  • Networking Basics: Working knowledge of Wi-Fi, VPNs, DNS, and device connectivity
